Top mathematics boffins honoured

Aaron Naidu (Eden College) and Emmanuel Rassou (South African College High School) were honoured for their performance in the South African Mathematics Olympiad (SAMO). The 2 learners beat more than 91 000 learners nationwide to be crowned as the overall winners of the South African Mathematics Olympiad (SAMO).

Students called to rally behind the Global Goals

Johannesburg: Monday, 26 August 2019 – Entries for the 2019 Student Leadership Summit (SLS) are now open. This year, instead of being a thought leadership essay writing competition as it has in the past 10 year, students are being challenged to put together a Sustainable Development Goal (or SDG) focused business case that illustrates how they would empower and improve the country through a community-based project that works towards solving one or more of the UN's SDGs.

Celebrating Mpumalanga’s academic excellence

Johannesburg, Tuesday 13 August 2019 –1 000 of Mpumalanga’s top-achieving Grade 11 and 12 learners took part in the province’s two annual development camps run by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) in partnership with the Mpumalanga Department of Education (WCDE). At the end of the camps, the brightest maths and accounting learners in the province were honoured at an award ceremony.
