SAICA congratulates SARS commissioner as Chairperson of the WCO

Johannesburg, 28 June 2023 - The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) congratulates the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (SARS), Mr. Edward Kieswetter, on his election as the Chairperson of the World Customs Organisation (WCO). He will succeed Mr. Ahmed Hamad Al-khalifa of Bahrain.

Business should take note of the new Sustainability Reporting standards

Johannesburg, 26 June 2023 – Sustainability Reporting is about to be revolutionised thanks to the International Sustainability Standards Board’s (ISSB) two new standards, which are due to be launched globally on 29 June. Milton Segal, Executive Director for Standards at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), believes these standards will bring about positive changes and reforms in the way we approach sustainability.
