In light of these concerns, SAICA has engaged members and associates to address these issues in the hopes of fostering a culture of accountability and integrity. One crucial aspect of this dialogue has been the support and protection of whistleblowers who bravely come forward to expose wrongdoing, often at great personal risk.

Johannesburg, 28 June 2023 - The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) congratulates the Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (SARS), Mr. Edward Kieswetter, on his election as the Chairperson of the World Customs Organisation (WCO). He will succeed Mr. Ahmed Hamad Al-khalifa of Bahrain.

Johannesburg, 26 June 2023 – Sustainability Reporting is about to be revolutionised thanks to the International Sustainability Standards Board’s (ISSB) two new standards, which are due to be launched globally on 29 June. Milton Segal, Executive Director for Standards at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), believes these standards will bring about positive changes and reforms in the way we approach sustainability.
