Bonga Mokoena CA(SA)

As CEO of BDO South Africa, Bonga a CA(SA), is driven by our global purpose: people helping people achieve their dreams through elevating people, business and society. He joined BDO as CEO in May 2022. He serves on the board of Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) and represents BDO SA at the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa (ABASA), Institute of Directors of South Africa (IODSA) and the Black Management Forum (BMF).

Before joining BDO, he held senior executive and leadership roles at AlexForbes. Bonga spent his earlier career at Nedcor Bank Limited, Metrorail and Transnet, before moving on to Old Mutual as an Industry Leader of its Corporate Division in 2005. He then joined the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund (EPPF) as its Chief Executive and Principal Officer for two years up to 2009.

He has extensive experience in both the public and private sector, primarily in the transport, energy, banking, financial services & investments sectors.

His personal interests include a passion for educational and community development interventions.
