Tax revenues are important for the effective management of government and society such as the funding of governments’ service delivery and developmental agenda to sustain the healthy functioning of its society. Therefore, when companies shirk their responsibility- be it tax avoidance to outright tax evasion- there are tangible social, environmental and economic consequences for society, including exacerbating inequality amongst its citizens.
