SAICA’s AGSA 2021-22 local government audit outcomes webinar

Johannesburg, 12 June 2023 - The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), in collaboration with the Auditor- General of South Africa (AGSA), will on Thursday, 15 June 2023, unpack the 2021-22 local government audit outcomes and provide insights on the key findings relating to financial statements, performance information, compliance with key legislations, unauthorised, irregular and fruitless and wasteful expenditure, root causes and recommendations for improvement and material irregularities.

Facilitated by Natashia Soopal, Executive for Ethics and Public Sector at SAICA, the panel will include Wayne McComans, Chief Director: Municipal Governance & Structures at the Department of Cooperative Governance; Mohammed Lorgat, National Programme Director: Municipal Audit Support at the South African Local Government Association; Mava Shude, Chairperson: SAICA Southern Region Public Sector Committee and Chief Financial Officer at Langeberg Municipality; and Wayne Duvenage, Chief Executive Officer at the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse.

A keynote address will be delivered by Mabatho Sedikela, Head of Audit: Provincial at the AGSA.
