SAICA saddened by the tragic passing of Mr. Mava Shude
SAICA is deeply saddened to have learnt about the passing of Mr. Mava Shude CA(SA), the Chief Financial Officer of Langeberg Municipality, who tragically passed away after a car accident on Friday, 6 December 2024.
According to a statement released by Langeberg Municipality, the car crash occurred on the road between Ashton and Robertson in the Western Cape.
Mava was a valued and highly respected member of SAICA, known for his dedication to the public sector. He was trained at the Auditor-General of South Africa and leaves a significant void not only in our profession but also in Langeberg Municipality, where he served with distinction. Under his leadership as Chief Financial Officer, the municipality achieved clean audits for five consecutive years.
As Chairman of the SAICA Southern Region Public Sector Committee, Mava worked tirelessly to promote the influx of skilled professionals into the sector, inspiring countless individuals to follow in his footsteps. His dedication to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance was evident in every aspect of his career, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
In recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to the public sector, Mava was nominated for SAICA’s prestigious Top-35-under-35 competition in 2018, further solidifying his position as a trailblazer in the profession and a true role model for others. Mava’s passion for public service and his commitment to improving the lives of others reflect the core values we hold dear at SAICA.
