SAICA mourns the passing of Imran Vanker and his daughter, Sara

SAICA is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Imran Vanker CA(SA) and his daughter, Ms. Sara Vanker, during a car accident on 25 November.

Imran was an expert and difference maker in the global accountancy profession, and a dear friend to SAICA. As the Director of Standards at the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA), Imran worked closely with SAICA on various initiatives, and his loss is felt deeply felt by the entire accountancy profession.

Imran was a distinguished leader in the auditing field and held several key roles that made a lasting impact locally and globally. He served on the Nominations Committee of Birdlife South Africa, the Audit Committee of the United Nations (UN), and was also in the Advisory Committee of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), contributing selflessly to both his profession and his community.

Our thoughts are with the Vanker family during this unimaginable time of grief. Verily we belong to God and verily to Him do we return. May Imran be granted the highest place in heaven and may his soul rest in peace.
