SAICA celebrates increased pass rate in 2024 APC results
Johannesburg, 28 February 2025 – The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is proud to announce the pass rate for the 2024 Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). This year, 3,147 (73%) of the 4,323 candidates who wrote the APC in December 2024 successfully demonstrated their competence.
The APC is the final assessment in which candidates must demonstrate their professional competence to be eligible to register as Chartered Accountants (South Africa) (CA[SA]). SAICA’s Chief Executive Officer, Patricia Stock CA(SA), highlighted SAICA’s ongoing commitment to support candidates and acknowledged the importance of a collaborative approach with stakeholders to enhance initiatives and address any challenges identified in their qualification process. “We are pleased to see the improvement in the pass rate this year, which underscores the effectiveness of our support initiatives and the dedication of our candidates. We remain committed to the continuous development of human capital and understand that each candidate’s journey is distinct. Success is achieved through perseverance, learning, and stakeholders in the ecosystem coming together to make a valuable difference”, emphasised Stock.
Among the successful candidates, SAICA proudly congratulates the individuals who secured a spot on the prestigious APC Honours Roll.
