Exploring the role of the accounting profession in advancing accountability and transparency in the public sector
Johannesburg, 3 August 2023 - Members of the media are invited to a Public Sector Summit hosted by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), where experts, stakeholders, and professionals from the accounting profession will discuss the critical role of accountants in ensuring the transparent and accountable utilisation of public funds.
The accounting profession has a critical role to play in ensuring that public funds are used in a transparent and accountable manner. The event will highlight the important role that the accounting profession plays in ensuring that public funds are used in a transparent and accountable manner and delve into how the accounting profession can actively support government efforts in delivering quality services to the South African public.
During the session, comprehensive discussions will take place, exploring avenues to capacitate and professionalise finance management and reporting functions within the public sector, the goal of which is to foster a transformative impact that enhances efficiency and effectiveness.
