The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) congratulates Joey Mathekga for his appointment to serve as member of the IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group (ITCG) effective, 1 August 2025.

Johannesburg, 31 July 2025 – The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) welcomes positive changes announced by National Treasury on 23 July 2025 that should assist the country in creating a budget and budget process that is not only efficient, but also effective in dealing with the needs of South Africa, its people and the unique challenges and trade-offs we face.

Trust and company service providers (TCSPs) operate in an environment that makes them vulnerable to abuse by entities or individuals who may seek to misuse corporate structures to hide illicit funds and their beneficial owners.
