Christel Pretorius CA(SA) (RA) is the Head of Audit and Assurance Quality Management at BDO in South Africa. She started her career as a trainee at Grant Thornton Kessel Feinstein in 2003. In 2006 she joined the Professional Standards department as manager and was promoted to partner in 2009. Christel is a member of the SAICA Audit and Assurance Guidance Committee (AGC) and is passionate about driving quality on audit engagements and supporting her fellow colleagues in achieving this goal. She is very excited to be part of the implementation process of the new quality standards, which she describes as ‘a once in a lifetime opportunity’.
